About Ambrosian Library, Milan:

The lovely Ambrosian Library is one of Milan's most famous attractions, but this library is more than just a repository of books. Founded in 1607 by Cardinal Federico Borromeo, the Ambrosiana Gallery is an ecclesiastical building in the heart of Milan that includes a public library, an art gallery, and a school of studies. It also houses the world's largest collection of Leonardo da Vinci's works as well as art work by some of Italy's greatest artists.
