About the destination:

Gangtok, the beautiful capital city settled in the mountains and is renowned for its Buddhist pilgrimage. It provides breathtaking views of the mighty Kangchenjunga, the world's 3rd highest peak. As your road winds upwards to North Sikkim, the landscape changes rapidly on every curve, with the thick smell of wildflowers, mossy trees, mists coiling up from the deep gorges, huge snow range embossed on the horizon, widespread valley, deep blue sky, lonely prayer flag-waving leisurely at the distant top. How to Reach:

The easiest option to start this trip is by either reaching the Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) in Siliguri (West Bengal). Both are very well connected with the major cities all over India, as it serves as a major gateway to North-East India.

Day 1
NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport to Gangtok | Welcome to the Capital City of Sikkim
Gangtok
  • Upon arrival at the Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station, our representative will meet you and arrange a hassle-free transfer to Gangtok.
  • Don’t forget to capture the picturesque views of the mighty Teesta River.
  • Upon reaching Gangtok, check-in to the hotel where the evening will be for your leisure.
  • You can also explore the famous MG Marg to treasure some unique souvenirs and authentic cuisines.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
Day 2
Gangtok Excursion Tour | Listen to the local story of Baba Mandir
  • After a tasty breakfast, you will leave to visit the famous Tsomgo Lake aka Changu Lake.
  • It has an elevation of about 3,780 m, offers breathtaking scenic beauty, is home to Brahminy Ducks and many other migratory bird,s and is popular for its colour changing phenomenon.
  • Following this, you will visit the shrine of the famous Baba Mandir where it is believed that his spirit protects every soldier in the inhospitable high-altitude terrain of the Eastern Himalayas.
  • Later, you can also visit Nathula Pass* (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) which is one of the most crucial passes on the crossroads of the India-China border (at an additional cost).
  • Later, return back to Gangtok for an overnight stay.
Day 3
Gangtok to Lachen | Drive to the Snow Capped Mountains
  • Wake up, have a delicious breakfast and start your journey to the small town of Lachen.
  • The road to Lachen takes you through the beautiful Chungthang town, near Kanchenjunga where you will see the confluence of two rivers Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu.
  • Travel towards the village perched at 9500 ft. and enjoy the views of the snow-capped peaks and beautiful alpine meadows.
  • You will travel along the Kanchenjunga National Park, passing various picturesque hamlets.
  • Upon arrival in Lachen, check in to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
  • Overnight stay at Lachen.
Day 4
Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake - Lachung | Welcome to the Slice of Heaven
  • Start your day with a view of the snow-capped mountains, the journey will start early towards Gurudongmar Lake (The Highest Altitude Accessible Lake) and breakfast will be at Thangu Village.
  • The scenic Gurudongmar Lake will welcome you with the eyeful sights of the hills and the glacial waters.
  • Post this, you will return to the hotel, have your lunch and then start the transfer to Gangtok.
  • Arrive at Gangtok, and check in to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5
Gangtok to Darjeeling | From Capital City to the Tea Gardens
  • After having a flavourful breakfast, you will start for Darjeeling.
  • Travel through the trails decorated with the magical views of the Himalayas and the adjoining valleys and don’t forget to capture the amazing snow-covered peaks lined with aromatic Tea Gardens.
  • Reach Darjeeling and check-in to the hotel, and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
  • You can also explore the bustling Mall Road in Darjeeling and buy some unique souvenirs and handicrafts.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6
Darjeeling Full Day Sightseeing | Watch the morning rays fall on Mt. Kanchenjunga
  • Kick-off your day at around 4 AM for an amazing experience.
  • Climb up to the top of Tiger Hill to catch the sunrise casting lights on Mt. Kanchenjunga and adjoining peaks.
  • Following this, visit the famous Batasia Loop (Army Memorial), which offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the Darjeeling hill station, surrounded by the Eastern Himalayas.
  • Visit the Ghoom Monastery housing a 15-foot high Maitreya Buddha statue (made from the clay bought from Tibet) captivating the surroundings with its aura.
  • Return back to enjoy a delicious breakfast before proceeding for more sightseeing.
  • Head out to explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Thursday closed), Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock.
  • Take a stroll through the Tea Estates that produces the best quality tea, popular all over the world.
  • Also, visit the Tibetan Refugee Center and Peace Pagoda - a Japanese Temple.
  • Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 7
Departure | Goodbye with lots of memories
  • After having a hearty breakfast, you will be leaving for the NJP Station/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB).
  • Your tour concludes as soon as you are dropped at the desired location for your onwards journey.
  • It’s now time to head back home with a plethora of good memories.

  • Hotel Specifications:- Standard Room - A Standard hotel room means a compact accommodation with basic amenities such as queen sized bed, proper lighting, toilet with running water, ventilation and door locking system with proper cleanliness & hygiene | Deluxe Room - A Deluxe hotel room generally has a view (city, mountains, river,etc) which is subject to availability. The room has all the facilities of a standard room with additional amenities like a slightly larger area, television, telephone, bath towels. | Super Deluxe Room - A Super Deluxe room is spacious and offers a great view and has a king sized bed. Along with the facilities of a deluxe room, it also has a sofa, chair, table.
  • Surcharges are applicable if your date of travel lies between 1st April - 30th June, Northeastern holiday week, and from 20th Dec - 5th Jan due to high traffic of travelers. Please note that these surcharges are applied by the local union and Thrillophilia has no participation in it.
  • Thrillophilia reserves the right to rearrange or change the itinerary for reasons that are beyond control like Natural calamity, weather conditions, road block etc.
  • Pick up from airport should be mandatorily between 05:00 AM to 07:00 PM. Beyond these timings, it is recommended to stay in Siliguri & Traveller is advised to let Thrillophilia know before booking if they are arriving after 7 PM in Siliguri so that Thrillophilia can rearrange their Itinerary.
  • By default, we arrange a standard room in the category that travellers books. In case a traveller prefers an upper category room or a suite, they are requested to inform before booking the package.
  • As per North East guidelines, Vehicles are not on disposal & may not deviate from the itinerary unless any issue occurs such as bad weather, Political/social disturbances, roadblocks, VVIP movements & state transport rule prohibition. Transport services are from point to point only. Also, Sumo/Bolero is not allowed in main market area between 08:00 AM– 20:00 PM thus these vehicles are not allowed to drop/pick up the travellers directly to/from hotel in Sikkim, Darjeeling, Gangtok & Pelling.
  • Nathula Pass can be added at an extra cost 4000 INR/car, payable on the spot and is subjected to availability. (Applicable if Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir is included in the package.
  • Cholamo Lake, Green Lake and Lonak Valley are trekking routes, where cabs are not allowed and options for travelling at these spots have been barred by Sikkim Government.
  • The services in Tata Sumo/bolero/ non-luxury car (Allotted from Govt local union) cannot be guaranteed in a good condition as the vehicles are usually very old and are already driven for more than 1 lakh kilometre in hilly terrains. We avoid arranging these cars for travellers.
  • Any sightseeing point which is not completed due to time constraints, traffic jam, natural calamity, travelers starting late, permits issued late or any other reason beyond control, Thrillophilia does not take the liability for a refund or a discount.
  • GST is applicable to the package and not mentioned in the above cost.
  • Air Fare / Train fare /Bus fare are not included in the package.
  • The traveler will have to take care of their international airfare, visa fees, airport tax or any kind of insurance cover.
  • The tour takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites
  • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.
  • Guidelines issued by the State-Government is to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.
  • Do not consume alcohol or any other intoxicants during the tour.
  • All the places requiring an Inner Line Permit doesn't allow solo foreign traveller. Minimum 2 foreign travellers must travel together accompanied by an Indian Guide.
