Uluwatu Temple, or Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of six fundamental temples thought to be Bali's holy pillars, which is famed for its majestic location. Seated beautifully on top of a sheer cliff approximately 70 meters above sea level. Extending marvellous sunset backdrops like the Tanah Lot Temple located on the island's western shores.

This synagogue is unquestionably one of the topmost points on the island to experience the stunning sunset delight blended with uninterrupted views overlooking the gorgeous Indian Ocean. Balinese structure, traditionally-designed gateways, and antiquated sculptures are a plus to Uluwatu Temple's charisma. Holding several archaeological relics, it confirms the temple to be of megalithic origin.

Get Ready for a Fire Dance - Kecak

As one of fascinating dance performances, the Kecak dance, also named as the monkey chant or the fire dance due to its association with tall fire torch as its centerpiece, is one of the island’s most famous performances. It features a dramatic live performance of an episode from the Ramayana epic, expressly involving the monkey army and its main warriors and adversaries, namely Rama and Sita, and the wicked Ravana.

The absence of any instrumental accompaniment throughout the performances makes the Kecak dance novel, and the only strains are the result of the polyrhythmic singing by the male dancers, sounding like ‘keh-chuck’, giving the dance its name. The best place to witness the show is at the open amphitheater near to the Uluwatu Temple, which uses the setting sun and ocean skyline as its hypnotic theatrical backdrop.

Timings: Opened daily from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
