The Tourism Department of Mizoram has developed and maintained a Mizo village in Reiek, which includes traditional houses from several Mizo sub-tribes, a Mizo chieftain's home, a bachelor's dormitory, and a widow's hut. The houses are completely furnished and also provide a glimpse into the heroic history.

A few new Mizo dwellings have also been built nearby to demonstrate how the Mizo way of life has evolved to keep up with the modern technologies. There is also a café and a resort on the premises, both of which provide good food and lodging. The annual Anthurium festival takes place here in September, and April, and are the ideal months to come. No doubt, this is surely one of the best things to do in Mizoram.

The Durtlang hills are located north of Aizawl, and the journey to the summit is very interesting since it takes you through beautiful landscape on a steep incline. The view from the summit of the Durtlang hills is truly stunning, and offers a beautiful perspective of the majestic terrain while still providing nice weather.

The view changes throughout the day and is never the same at any one time. Both the beautiful mornings and the vibrant evenings are equally wonderful. Mizoram State Museums features detailed artefacts from the pre-independence period as well as the period when India was fighting for independence from the British. Burrabazar, India's largest wholesale market, used to be a yarn and textile mart during British rule. Yarn and fabric merchants thrived in this town. The Phulpui Grave site is located in the hamlet of Phulpui. Zawlpala and Talvungi are two burials on the site which are the graves of two lovers, that convey volumes about a woman's love. According to folklore, Zawlpala, the Chief of Phulpui village, wedded Talvungi of Thenzawl, a mythical beauty.

Talvungi was afterwards married to the Rothai, Punthia, leader. Talvungi, on the other hand, couldn't forget about her first husband, Zawlpala. When Zawlpala died after a long period of mourning, grief-stricken Talvungi travelled to Phulpui, dug a trench next to Zawlpala's tomb, and begged an old lady to murder her and bury her there. Visitors to Mizoram are drawn to Phulpui because of the love tale, the tombs, and other associated sites.

This lake is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, and you can almost smell the freshness in the air. The Fisheries Department of the Government of Mizoram is rebuilding the lake as part of the construction of a fishing reservoir.

The Tourism Department is in charge of maintaining lakeside resorts. This lake is rich in sea life and is bordered by evergreen tropical trees, making it a fantastic site for fishing and boating.

Infinite Ainawn Park is an entertainment park. The deep forest cover, which runs beside the gorgeous river Tlawng throughout the whole length of the park, provides a stunning picture of nature.

The Vantawng Falls is the state's tallest and most beautiful fall. It is nestled within deep woodlands. It is estimated to be India's 13th tallest waterfall, with a height of 750 feet. The falls are bordered by bamboo woods, and because the terrain is challenging, the Tourism Department has built up a viewing platform for tourists to enjoy the view.

The water for the waterfall comes from the adjacent Vanva river. The waterfall was named after an amazing swimmer named Vantawng, whose prowess was similar to that of a fish, according to folklore. No doubt, this is surely one of the best things to do in Mizoram.

This wildlife sanctuary lies in the tri-junction of Bangladesh, Tripura, and Mizoram, is home to the adored tiger, mammoth elephants, bear, bison, and bird species. This sanctuary, which lies 133 kilometres from Aizawl, is distant and mostly unaffected by human interference. You'll get to see animals in their natural habitats and see nature in all of its grandeur.

Tropical evergreen, tropical wet deciduous, semi-evergreen, and sub montane forests are the primary types of forests found in the reserve. Mangkhaia Lung is a stone monument built in remembrance of Mangakahia, a prominent Ralte tribal leader in Mizoram. It was constructed in the year 1700 and is fairly large. 'Mangkahia's stone' is another name for it.

It was erected to a height of 5 metres and has carvings of mithun heads (the animal found in north east India). No doubt, this is surely one of the best things to do in Mizoram.

Kolodyne is a river that originates in Myanmar's woods and enters Mizoram through the Sittwe district. The river is called in Mizo dialect as Chhimpuitui and is known to generate one of the most remarkable terraforming zones. The Castle of Beino, also known as the Grand Canyon of Mizoram, stands majestically, providing a magnificent view of Northeast India's natural beauties. Tigers, wild boars, and bears abound in the forest that surrounds the lake.

The Mara group makes up the vast bulk of the locals. Beino Castle is shrouded in legend, and residents believe it is cursed. This less-visited spot yet has an undeniable charm that must be experienced. One of the best things to do in Mizoram is visiting the Castle.
