Chilika Lake

The most abundant saltwater lake and coastal lagoon in India. Located 44kms from Puri. It is the most significant ground for migratory birds. It is flooded with all species of birds like; heroines, sea eagles, jacana, Flamingoes, and gray lay geese. This makes the lake a delight for bird watchers. It is also the home of the largest breeding colonies of flamingos.It is one of the supportive ecosystems in the name Chilika lake Sanctuary. It also houses Irrawaddy dolphins that differ from the other dolphins with their color and dorsal fin. The best time to visit Chilika lake is from November to February as it is the season for migratory birds, and one gets more exceptional views of the lake.
