Om Banna Dham

For anyone who loves to explore things out of the box about then Om Banna Dham is the place to be at. This one is not any ordinary temple but is one of the most peculiar places to visit in Pali Rajasthan.

That is because on entering the temple you will not find any idol of a deity or any god’s statue but a Royal Enfield bike. And what’s more enticing is that every day a horde of devotees gather to offer prayers to the bike. This motorbike is encased within a glass showcase and the shrine has a photo of an ordinary man.

Legend has it that the man (bullet baba) in the picture is Om (Singh Rathore) Banna. He rode from Bangdi to Pali’s Chotila Village and it is here where he lost control, hit a tree, and died. Later many unusual events took place where his bike placed at the police station was found missing and later was found in the same accident spot, the next day. Thus it is believed that his soul protects the people from accidents in the Pali-highway’s accident-prone area, even now.

Parshuram Mahadev Temple

The Parshuram Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Lord Parshuram-Lord Vishnu’s sixth incarnation and is one of the most fascinating places to visit in Pali Rajasthan, on the mountain ranges of the Aravali. It has a remote location and may require you to walk miles to reach the temple but the journey is an appeasing and alluring one.

In the winding paths of the mountain, you get to see the varied flora and kunds filled with water. When you reach the destination and are able to seek the Lord’s blessings, it feels like the perfect end reward. A visit to the Parshuram Mahadev temple is a complete adventure in itself.

The Navlakha Temple

Erected during the tenth century, the elaborately carved Navlakha temple is one of the most frequented places to visit in Pali Rajasthan and revered shrines with a unique history.

This is also called the Naulakha Jain Temple, and is dedicated to the Jain religion’s 23rd Tirthankara. Located on the hill of Punagiri, this temple was one of the most prosperous places in ancient times and even today the fascinating sculpture and art of the mandir will remind you of its glory.

I brought my office team here for our yearly corporate outing and everyone just loved the experience. Even though we were a large group of 18, they handled the booking pretty well, and saved me all of the trouble. The place itself was beautiful, with a nice lake just around the corner, and our caretaker, Mano, was such a helpful guy! I recommend the morning jeep safari, as you get better views than you would in the evening!
