Komodo National Park is considered as a global conservation priority area. It is among the most popular National Park in Indonesia quite famous for the variety of animals it is home to. The park consists of three major islands - Komodo, Rinca and Padar. There are some smaller islands which are spread across 1800 km on both water and land.
Highlights: Komodo National Park is home to the Komodo dragon, world's largest living lizard. It also takes care of numerous species like Timor deers, wild horses, water buffaloes, wild boars, long-tailed macaques, palm civets, and much more. You will also find 260 species of reef building corals along with 70 different species of sponges and crustaceans. The park was declared as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1986.
