Located at a distance of 11 kilometres from the main Sikar city centre in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, the Harshnath Temple is an ancient place of worship dedicated to the Hindu Lord Shiva. As per the available inscription, the original temple dates back to 973 CE and is said to have been built by Bhavarakta during the reign of Chahamana king Vigraharaja II.The site was then demolished by the Mughal ruler ‘Aurangzeb’ in 1679. After a few years in 1718, a new temple was erected by Rao Shivsingh at the same spot using the ruins of the old temple. Devgarh Fort is a stunning hillock Fort built in 1787 by Rao Raja Devi Singh of Sikar. Located in Devgarh, at a distance of 10 kilometres away from the city centre atop a hill with an elevation of 2100 feet above sea level.The magnificent establishment is one of the most authentic places to visit in Sikar to enjoy expansive views of the surroundings.
