Viking Cave is one of the most wonderful places to see in the uninhabited Phi Phi Leh island where the marvels of MotherNature can be looked upon. The cave is located at the bottom of a huge limestone cliff that soars for metres above sea level. The walls of the cave have paintings of ancient Scandinavian Viking ships which gave the cave which was originally named ‘Tham Phaya Nak’ the current name of ‘Viking Cave’. The paintings are believed to be done by pirates who took refuge in the cave during the violent monsoon downpours.Another significant thing about the Viking cave is the swift birds' nests. The cave is home to many swiftler birds and these birds build their nests using their saliva. The birds’ nests are one of the most expensive bird products consumed by humans and the locals can be seen climbing up the Viking Cave to harvest the full nests during the months from February to April.Tourists can spot fragile scaffoldings at the cave’s base that are used by the locals to climb up. There is also an altar at the cave mouth where the local men offer their prayers before harvesting the swiftler birds’ nests. After harvesting the nests, they are sold for hundreds of dollars to find their place in the exotic Chinese delicacy , ‘bird's nest soup’.The cave is located on the north eastern side of the Koh Phi Phi Island, opposite the Maya Bay. The cave can be reached by the longtail boats from the main pier of Phi Phi Le. The journey from the pier to the cave takes about 30 minutes and the views of the island, the waters of the Andaman Ocean, and the greenery clad limestone cliffs are truly enthralling.Entry inside the cave is prohibited for tourists; however these boats take you as close as possible to the cave so that Nature's beautiful creation can be marveled upon.

Located in the north eastern side of the Phi Phi archipelago at about 5 km away from the northern tip of Koh Phi Phi Don, Bamboo Island is one of the most scenic islands in Thailand that has dramatic landscapes and a tranquil atmosphere.The island was originally known as Koh Pai and got the tag "Bamboo Island" due to the presence of lush and dense Bamboo forests at the centre of the island. The beach sand looks a little pinkish due to the broken coral structures found here. The waters of the island look crystal clear and clean and thrive with rich marine life that swimming here might make you feel like swimming within a perfectly set aquarium tank. Coral reefs are found flourishing in the waters close by the beach and are best explored by snorkeling. Tourists can carry their own snorkeling gear and dive deep into the Andaman Sea to explore the underwater world. The beach is a great spot to spend hours getting sun kissed and there are facilities like toilets on the beach.You can even carry your own tents and pitch them to picnic. There is a small bar in the north eastern part of the island set under the canopy of trees that sells refreshing drinks to beat the scorching sun.

Also known as Sama Bay, Loh Samah Bay is one of the most popular and astonishingly beautiful destinations of Koh Phi Phi Leh. Lying on the eastern side of the southern tip of the island, Loh Samah Bay features a small islet in the middle and a small beach on its northern part.Loh Samah Bay is separated from the Maya Bay by a limestone cliff and there is a tiny hole offering visitors access to the bay during low tide. A wooden staircase constructed on the side-facing Maya Bay offers unobstructed mesmerizing views of the bay and the islet.The picturesque Loh Samah Bay makes for an excellent diving and snorkeling destination. The bay features a depth between 5 and 20 meters and offers an amazing visibility ranging from 5 to 15 meters. Diving is primarily done on the small island lying at the entrance of this bay.The islet is flanked by 8 to 20 meters tall walls that are shrouded completely with shellfish and soft and hard corals. This is the place where you can find a host of colourful fish, parrots, and scorpions. With a number of yellow and blue fish living a little below the surface of the water, Loh Samah Bay offers an unmatched snorkelling opportunity.Packed with light reflecting crustaceans on the seabed, Loh Samah Bay also makes for one of the top-rated night snorkeling sites in Phi Phi.
