Bhuntar is a town in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. There are not many places to visit or things to do in Bhuntar. It is a tranquil weekend getaway for tourists who want to spend a relaxed time in a quaint town. There are a few temples and historical sites to see. This town has religious significance. Kullu valley is 10 kilometres away from Bhuntar. Tourists visit the Kullu valley for water sports and adventure activities. In Kullu Valley, there are places that have a breathtaking landscape view. Trekking and camping is a popular activity at these sites . Bhuntar has a pleasant climate throughout the year.

Newly wedded couples can choose Bhuntar as a honeymoon spot for its tranquil locations and peaceful climate. If you want to get away from the maddening crowd of most of the tourist places in Himachal Pradesh, you can visit Bhuntar for a weekend. Ideally, you can spend one day in Bhuntar, before heading to Kullu, Manali, or other tourist places in Himachal Pradesh. Trekking and  camping is possible at a few sites in Bhuntar.     • You can take a flight to the Bhuntar airport, also known as the Kullu Manali airport. However, this airport might not be functional throughout the year.

    Temple tours and walking trails

    You can visit the Basheshwar temple in this town. It was built by Pandavas, has stone carvings, and is one of the biggest Shiva temples in Kullu Valley. The stone carvings around the idols are intricate and worth a view. Away from Bhuntar is the Bijali Mahadev temple that has stone carvings and was built in the 8th century. This is one of the oldest temples that is 4 kilometres away from Bhuntar. The Jagannath Temple is 3 kilometres away from Bhuntar and can only be reached by foot.

    Once you finish taking the temple tours in a day’s time, you can take rest at the hotel and head towards adventure activities in Kullu and Manali. There are many nearby places where most of the outdoor activities and sightseeing is available for tourists. You can take a walking trail around Bhuntar and explore nearby areas in day time.

    Trekking and camping in Nearby places

    You can explore Mandi, Tirthan valley, Kullu, Manali, Kasol, or Manikaran for various activities. You can take treks at the Parvathi Valley and enjoy the view of meadows, mountains, Parvathi River, and the floral delights. This trek is a haven for shutterbugs who love nature photography. There are many villages near Kasol where you can trek and camp. The best view is star gazing at night in the clear sky. It is not possible to get this view in cities or towns.

    Though there is nothing much to do in Bhuntar, except spend a day exploring temples and taking walking trails, you can visit Kullu which is 10 kilometres away from Bhuntar. You can visit The Great Himalayan Park to get a glimpse of nature and wildlife. Kullu offers water sports like rafting and fishing. Visit the Pandoh Dam for its scenic view. You can take treks in Kullu for 4 to 12 days and explore nearby villages and valleys.

    Shopping, peaks, and mountain pass

    You can shop at most of the street markets in Kullu and other nearby villages for shawls, headgear, handicrafts, and souvenirs. The Chandrakhani Pass near the Beas Rive has clear waters, scenic view, fertile fields, and lush greenery. Naggar is a town in the Kullu district that offers many sites for trekking. Most of these places are not a haven for night-life and partying. Those who love wilderness and nature can take tours to this part of Himachal Pradesh.

It saves quite a lot of time to reach Bhuntar and again we can travel at any time we want too. There is flexibility in travel time too.
Quite an amazing experience in Bhuntar. We rented a bike to go till Manikaran Gurudwara and the roads which led there was the best road to ride a bike on. It was the most memorable experience we had there and enjoyed riding the bike to the fullest.
Riding a bike in Bhuntar especially in the winter was the most amazing experience we had there. The entire day we enjoyed the scenic beauty of the area.
We had an evening flight to catch from Bhuntar and still left with a few sightseeing in Kasol. We decided to book a cab for us to reach Bhuntar in time and thus we are able to cover the places left on our list. The driver was friendly and without any stop, we reached Bhuntar and caught our flights as well.
