2. Aurangabad Caves: A cluster of 12 rock-cut caves displaying early Buddhist architecture, these caves lie in the Sihaychal Ranges near Aurangabad. These 6th and 7th centuries caves are adorned with several exceptional carvings and Buddhist deities sculptures.

Carved out of soft basalt rocks, these caves are nestled amidst beautiful landscapes and divided into three groups that are located at a distance from each other. Now, the Archeological Survey of India is looking after their maintenance and upkeep.

3. Salim Ali Lake & Bird Sanctuary: A perfect destination for nature lovers, this pristine lake is also an abode of a large species of local and migratory birds. It is a great location to unwind yourself with majestic sunrise views amidst the melodious sounds of birds chirping.

4. Jama Masjid Aurangabad: A seventeenth-century Mosque, it is one of the oldest mosques in Aurangabad known for its impeccable Moghul architecture. Its arches, tall minarets, and pillars amuse the visitors with their grandeur and design and are ancient structural marvels.

6. Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple: A UNESCO World Heritage Centre, this temple is amongst the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Once destroyed by the Mughals, this 13th-century Shiva Temple was rebuilt after the end of that era and is one of the oldest holy shrines in Aurangabad.

It resembles South India's temple architectural design and has beautifully carved Dashavatara and other sculptures over red sandstone. The central prayer hall called the ‘Garbhagriha’ houses the main Jyotirlinga and a gorgeous Nandikeshwara idol.
