Building this basilica was based on two basilicas in the ancient city-state of Byzantium. It has five big domes, a plant shaped like a Greek cross in the middle, and a unique mix of East and West art.

Santa Maria Formosa, located in the Castello district of Venice, is a striking example of Renaissance architecture and one of the city's most historically significant churches. Founded in 1492 by renowned architect Mauro Codussi, the church stands out with its distinctive facade, which showcases a blend of classical and Venetian Gothic styles.
