Lotus Pond, Kaohsiung

The breathtaking Lotus Pond is one of the most popular tourist attractions of this port city. Something unusual about this pond is that it is more of a lake that stretches for about 42 hectares of land. The chores of the pond are dotted with as many as twenty temples along with the Dragon & Tiger pagodas. It is located in the Zuoying District of Kaohsiung is the best place to witness the sunset in the laps of serenity.

This elegant structure was built back in 1686 with one temple and an ample amount of beautiful lotus in the pond, from where it got the name Lotus pond. This is a scenic site and one must not miss out on a chance of visiting this masterpiece!
