About Lion Monument

This famous sculpture, also known as Lowendenkmal, was created by Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen and German mason Lukas Ahorn. You will find the 20-foot-high and 33-foot-long sculpture nestled into a sandstone rock face, depicting a dying lion resting on shields and spears. The lion's paws are on top of Fleur-de-Lis symbols, and there is a broken weapon on its back. Above the lion, you will see an inscription that says "To the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss.

The tour was really relaxing and the entry into the premise was hassle-free. I had to carry a physical copy of the Thrillophilia voucher which the people there instantly recognized. The tour lasted for around 2 hours and we learned a lot about the place through the journey.

I got children tickets for my 15-year-old and 2 adult tickets for my parents although I was not there, the guide was really helpful and my parents and kid had a lot of fun.
