Koyna Dam

Koyna Dam, being one of the popular Satara tourist places, offers its tourist an exciting experience of nature. It is one of the most famous and the largest Dam in Maharashtra which is nearby both Mumbai and Pune, and that backs up the state on the whole.

Koyna dam is built all across the Koyna River, which is one of the primary tributaries of Krishna River. This particular dam was built after independence. Koyna creates Shivsagar Lake, which is around 50km wide.
