Giardini Reali Di Torino Overview

Giardini Reali di Torino are gardens planned by André Le Nôtre, who also created the grounds at Versailles. These Turin attractions were established in the late seventeenth century within the medieval defended ramparts. It is the perfect place to relax in nature after touring the apartments of Palazzo Reale, as the garden is decorated with statues, flowerbeds, and fountains (representing Triton and sea nymphs).

Located behind the Royal Palace of Turin, Andréle Nôtre (who also planned the gardens at Versailles) created a geometrically structured garden. The Royal Gardens are a prominent landmark in the heart of Turin, representing the former regal dominance of the House of Savoy. Carlo Emmanuelle II commissioned the famous garden designer Andréle Nôtre to realize his idea for the grounds of the Baroque Royal Palace he constructed in the background. Experience the fruits of his labor by taking a stroll in the neighborhood. The gardens have been meticulously cared for, and they now look as they did in the 17th century. Visit the 17th century historical and tourist attraction with our Europe trip packages.

Modern upgrades and statues complement le Nôtre's classically French designs in the grounds. The gardens are at their most vibrant and beautiful in the warmer summer months, but a visit to them at any time of the year is rewarding.

Highlights

• Explore Andréle Nôtre's grandiose geometric Royal Gardens, a stunning display of European splendor.
• Be on the lookout for the stunning photographic backdrop that is Simone Martinez's Fountain of Tritons, located in the garden's artificial lake.
• The intricate design of the fountain features tritons rising from the ocean floor while a sea nymph watches from atop a chariot pulled by swans.
• The Royal Palace, representing old royalty, may be seen in the background of the gardens; this location was a gift to the people of Turin and serves as a buffer between the two very different worlds.
• You are welcome to drop over whenever the locals are having a picnic, a soccer game, or a cultural celebration.
