Dubai Police Museum

Located inside the Dubai Police Headquarters, this museum is a must-see for history and crime buffs. At the museum, visitors can learn about the evolution of the Dubai Police from its earliest days to its present-day status as a globally recognized force. The museum opened to the public on November 19, 1987 and documents the history of the Dubai Police, since its inception in 1956.

Museum's seven exhibits include technical and military equipment, investigative techniques, criminal evidence, as well as social participation. Among the many items on display are awareness pamphlets, historical documents, unit and departmental summaries, antique military attires, photos, and logos dating back to the early days of the force. In addition, it also has portraits of Dubai's most senior officials and top police officers, as well as the rulers of Dubai, since 1968, on display. The Dubai Police celebrated its golden jubilee in 2006, and a section of the museum displays memorabilia from those celebrations.

The museum's mission is twofold: it aims to preserve the history of the police force and to inform the public about the methods used to keep the peace. It draws thousands of people from across the world each year, including students, researchers, international delegations, and visitors.

1. To visit the museum, you must first submit an application for approval on the Dubai Police's official website.
2. Following approval, report to the reception area at the Police Headquarters and show identification to the officers on duty (mandatory).
3. Bring your mobile phone, but please keep it in silent mode.
4. Pictures are permitted as long as they do not interfere with decorum.
5. Food items are not permitted on the premises.
6. Arrive at the venue as early as possible to avoid being surrounded by other people.
