Visit the Residential Jahangir Palace

The Jahangir Mahal is one of the biggest and the earliest constructions in Agra Fort, by Akbar. The palace was mainly built as a private residence for Akbar’s son, Jahangir. However, in the end it served as a zenana (household for women) for the Rajput wives of the emperor, Nur Jahan and the other female royal members. The palace is a blend of Rajput and Islamic architectural style, made up of red sandstone and white marble. The walls of the palace are adorned with stunning motifs, symbols and geometrical patterns. Additionally, you will get to see Hauz-i-Jahangiri which is a huge bowl carved out of a single stone to store fragrant rose water.
